Having a beautiful yard takes more than just a little water and some plants. In most regions, it takes a specific routine of care and nurturing in order to keep a yard healthy. More importantly, homeowners need to choose plants that will flourish in their particular region. There are many different types of plants to choose besides grass. Trees are a great addition to any yard. Many fruit trees look great and even provide tasty snacks in the right season, but they can also be expensive. Shrubbery is a great long-term solution; they don’t require much care and they last for a very long time. When it comes to flowers, things get a little more complicated. It can be hard to know what to plant in the fall in NJ, but there are a few tips homeowners can follow in order to get the most out of their yard space.

After summer, it’s important to choose fall blooming perennials, or that planting season may end up being a little disappointing. Fall perennials tend to be a little taller and bloom in richer colors. Deep purple, rust, and gold are typical colors for fall flowers. This allows homeowners to truly capture the color of the season. It can be hard to balance colors with the existing landscape and plants. There are several different breeds to choose from and it can be hard to know where to start.
